Riding a Bike

Riding a bike is one of the most popular outdoor activities performed today by people of all ages. When riding a bike one should always wear a helmet, especially if they are under the age of 17 or over the age of 60. Helmets protect bike riders from severe head trauma injuries if they should fall onto concrete, pavement or get hit by a motor vehicle when riding their bike.

Riding a bike is an excellent cardiovascular activity performed by people needing to lose weight. Cardiovascular activities are the best way to lose weight because this type of exercising gets the heart rate pumping, burning calories faster from the body. Riding a bike can be done in the morning, the afternoon, or at night. If riding a bike is done at night then the rider should wear reflective clothing so cars can see them. They should also purchase blinking reflectors to place on the front and rear of their bicycle, making it easier for cars to see the bikers.

Biking has been a popular outdoor activity for quite some time now because it is such a fun activity to perform. Biking can also be a sort of sightseeing activity if it is done on scenic trails or in other scenic areas such as Old City Philadelphia, Boston, New York and other large cities with a lot of history to offer its visitors. Biking is also a professional sport. One of the most popular tournaments is the annual Tour de France, which takes place in the middle of the summer in France.
