The Summer BBQ

One of the most popular outdoor activities around today is barbecuing during the summertime. A barbecue is one of the best ways for a family to bond together and a great way for friends to spend a steamy, sunny Saturday afternoon together. There is so much to do at a barbecue aside from sitting on your butt and waiting for the hamburgers and hot dogs to finish cooking on the grill.

Some of the most popular activities to partake in at a barbecue include badminton, wiffle ball, football, basketball, volleyball, horse, horseshoes, bean bags and much more. Other activities include playing boardgames, cards, and maybe even building sandcastles if you are having the barbecue on the beach.

The best barbecue foods include hamburgers, hot dogs, potato salad, salad, taco salad, chicken, chicken wings, cole slaw and ribs. The best barbecue drinks include soda, adult beverages, water, lemonade and iced tea. The best barbecue is one where the guests bring their own homemade food to the barbecue.

Many barbecues last well into the night and even include dance contests and other contests for guests to participate in at the barbecue. The essential barbecue equipment includes a grill (or two), chairs, a couple of tables, coolers, ice, recycling bins, trash cans, umbrellas, citranella candles, tiki torches and much more.

Barbecues are an excellent way for people to meet new people, for old friends to meet again, for family members to get reacquainted and for lovebirds to fall in love all over again under the stars.
